The Horror Channel

Apparently there is a Horror Channel in the works. How very interesting. Though the similarly aimed Sci-Fi Channel has its faults, from time to time they show some great stuff. In my opinion, even a half decent all Horror Channel would be welcome.

Update

This, and the official Horror Channel web site.

They already have a horror channel. It’s called E! and it scares the shit out of me.

Before the FCC approves broadcast of yet another stupid niche cable network, it really should get down to the important business of litigation against The Learning Channel, which is certainly committing a crime by calling itself The Learning Channel.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with another niche cable network. More specific channels end up showing some of the more rare stuff out there. I have seen plenty of good Science Fiction stuff on the Sci-Fi Channel (granted, much of their programming is crap) that I wouldn’t have been able to see otherwise. I agree about The Learning Channel though…especially because it seems to be on so much at my house (do to a DIY-overcharged girlfriend). What do I know though, MTV hasn’t been about music for a long time either.

Jason,

Thanks for posting our network on your site. Although still in our infancy, we are The Horror Channel and strive to build the “people’s network” in an effort to avoid the path taken by Sci-Fi, for example. Our aim is to offer uncut unedited versions of favorite and niche horror programs and titles and we are currently acquiring horror libraries from around the world. The support we are receiving from organizations like Fango are imeasurable Check out our Creative Advisory Board for more of an idea about our direction and dedication to the genre.

Well, all of that makes the prospect sound that much more enticing, John. Now I just hope Comcast will marry the channel with my existing service.

Wouldn’t it do that already?
