Crazy Texas Bug

Crazy Texas Bug

I was going to do some research and figure out what kind of bug this is, but decided it might be more fun to put it up here and see if anyone else could figure it out. Let’s make a boring, no-prize game out of it!

It might be a Squash bug? Hard to tell without seeing the body shape from above…

It’s a Ziccou bug, if you’ve seen the Life Aquatic then that would be clear.

I don’t know what scientists call it, but I call it hideous. The picture is cool though.

That my friend, is a Coreid bug (Hypselonotus sp.). Most popular in texas..they are a squash eating bug, and if you step on them, they stink! fun stuff.

Had them in Utah, too. But I can’t remember what we called them. Was it kinda red-orange on the back?

I think the work with the focal length is great. The bug is sharp and everything around it just kinda blurs away.

Unless you PS’d it =0)

I try to alter my photos as little as possible. Usually this means just compensating for forgetting to change my white balance or to clean a spot where there may have been dirt or a smudge on the lens. Beyond that, these are all me.

It’s a bug.

So what do I get. A flag or something?

I care Niff, well done!

You win your own play-at-home version of the game! I will drop off the crates full of bugs this weekend :D
