On The Menu

On The Menu

This past Saturday, The Ministry of Information, our favorite watering hole-in-the-wall, closed its doors forever. So, this will be a week of photographic remembrance. First up, the glamorous menu of delectable dinner-related treats.

Ok. Used to rehearse various musical combos up around the corner on Leithgow Street, and after we would sometimes get a beer at the W & J. At that time it was owned by an older Polish couple. The door was locked at all times and they’d buzz you in. Upon entering the fellow behind the bar would inquire “You 21?” Of course the answer was always yes ;). Never made it to the “Ministry”. Seems like a cool joint. Here’s hoping something good opens in its place.

Unfortunately, the word on the street is that it’s going to be a posh French Bistro :(
