Nice composition. Curious about the focal length, exposure and lens used. Was a telephoto lens (100 mm) used in order to blur the background and get the shallow depth of field? Zoom lens? Hand held? Tripod? Bean bag? Lens aperature wide open for a static subject? I’m glad to see the armadillo getting some much deserved recognition. Cowboy boots get too much.
Thanks Rick! This was taken with my new favorite lens, a 30mm Sigma, at ISO 200, f1.4, and 1/25 shutter speed. I snapped this hand held walking around the studio. That lens is very fast and forgiving for casual photography.

Does your DSLR have a full frame sensor or does it magnify the focal length slightly like most DSLR’s? I’m impressed with the 1.4 aperature and can see why you can hand hold with it.
Yeah, it does indeed magnify a bit as it’s not a full frame sensor. I shoot with a Nikon D70, which uses the DX Format. That lens is a marvel in medium to low light situations, and a joy to shoot with. And since it’s a fixed length, there’s no hassle with zooming, you just take a few steps forward or back :D
