The Alamo Drafthouse Downtown is closing

The Alamo Drafthouse Downtown, my favorite theater in Austin or anywhere else, is closing. But, the owners are moving just a stone’s throw away to 6th street and restoring an old movie palace called the Ritz Theater. It promises to be bigger, better, and more wonderful than ever. Congratulations!

Flaunt

Flaunt, like Christmas for type nerds.

Letterhead Fonts and DRM

Letterhead Fonts embraces DRM for font distribution. I agree, font piracy is rampant, but if the music industry has taught us anything, DRM is hardly the way to go. We’ve heard the “DRM is better for the paying customers” routine before. Placing this many restrictions on the usage of your fonts will not protect your paying customers, it will drive them away. Why should we jump through all the new hoops you are introducing when I could just as easily get fonts somewhere else. The problem here is that you are making piracy of your product my problem.
