I’ve seen that same Ocean Liner across the the IKEA. Small world.
With shots like this it’s only a matter of time before the Man hauls your ass in for terrorist espionage and we have to suffer through yet another blog post on the topic ;)
I love that ship. It’s intense when you round Delaware Ave coming from the stadium in the evening and the sky is orange and red from the sunset. It gives a wicked backdrop for that antiquated old bird. I’d love to break into it someday and take some pictures from on the ship. Love the depth of field play on the fence.
I love the photo. What’s the significance of the ship, though? Sorry if that’s a silly question, but I can’t figure it out. If there is no significance, that’s cool, it makes for a great picture.
It’s a famous steamer, the S.S. United States, known for being the largest and fastest liner of her time. The ship is in very bad condition today owing to its lack of upkeep. For info, check out the website for the S.S. United States.

oh the irony that now the ship is rusting across from an newly built ikea and best buy. shows you where this country is going in a strange coincidental way.
